design
Finisar designs and manufactures optical transceivers that are
compliant with Gigabit Ethernet, SONET/SDH and Fibre Channel
standards. These products operate up to 50 miles and with rates up
to 10 GB/s.
Monitoring
the network
Most Finisar transceivers have a microprocessor and diagnostics port
that provides performance information on the data link. Users can
remotely monitor in real-time the received optical power, the
transmitted optical power, the laser bias current and the
transceiver temperature of any transceiver in the network. These
functions allow companies to monitor performance in a cost effective
and accurate way. |
